Posting this with a new account, as there could be repercussions otherwise. The thing is that the committer (Andres) has a not so good track record on his features, leading to a very long tail of continuous bugs.

I think that this is going to be a very rocky time for Postgres, even without additional pluggable storage being made available. If anyone else had made these commits, I'd be a bit more optimistic, but given Andres' track record, I'm not so sure.
