Well... maybe. You would just register the domain once (maybe `mycoolawesomehome.net`), and then you have the authority to arbitrarily decide that your printer's hostname should be `thebestprinterever.mycoolawesomehome.net`.

But now you can just use `mycoolawesome.home.arpa` without registering it.
