Honestly modern comedians aren’t even funny. Trevor Noah, John Oliver, Ect just moralize and brow beat anyone who isn’t idealogy pure with mainstream hollywood ethnics.
One thing that strikes me about comedians like John Oliver is the audience spends far more time cheering than laughing. His act hits the cultural touchstones for his particular audience, which finds him entertaining. But not actually funny.
