Names are hard. Two of us running ErlangCamp have been organizers for Chicago BARCamp for the last 5 years (I've actually backed off but Jordan still helps) and we've heard this a few time already, hehe. Now that events like CouchCamp are popping up I didn't think it was a big deal to do the same for our Erlang event.

Sorry if it causes any confusion. It will still be a great conference!

The name was a tough decision. We want to still instill the atmosphere that a Camp provides, basically energetic hackers eager to learn, while still being promise some kind of gain if you do attend. The cost was as low as we could make it, we still may lose money. You will notice it is still much cheaper than similar conferences with similar content. We are really hoping to make this a community event more than anything.

OTOH it's easier to make a decision about going when you know the agenda in advance. Esp. if you're coming in from out of town and would have the added expenses of travel and lodging.
