Any thoughts on something like andOTP (https://github.com/andOTP/andOTP), where you can make backups of your 2FA's?

I wasn't aware of it. It's still OTP, so many of my points from the other comment apply: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15818474

Still, it might be a nice incremental improvement.
