The mayor of San Juan managed to give a press conference about the lack of supplies in front of the actual pallets of supplies provided by US government. Narrative busting thing, if one is paying attention.

Have you seen the video? She clearly says "“Again, this is what we got last night: four pallets of water, three pallets of meals and 12 pallets of infant food. Which, I gave them to Comerío, where people are drinking out of a creek." And "What stands behind me is all due to the generosity of other people"

What part of that did you not understand?

She is reaching out for help, not for herself but for her people, u suggested she to shut up because that makes your President look bad?

Her job is to coordinate her people, not to be some ambassador between PR and the world. Most of the issues centered around lack of coordination/response infrastructure; this does not roll in from the USG every time there's a disaster, but is supposed to be a function of local and state authorities.

Helping people on the ground is not the job of the mayor, organizing what's necessary for thousands of her own citizens to be able to do that for each other is.

Seems like her primary goal is to virtue signal to US liberals,not to help her people. Because the Trump administration is already providing help over and above of the what the US would normally provide.

Dude Puerto Rico was just hit by a huge hurricane. What you are saying is disgusting.

None of this was political until the mayor turned around and said to the US/USG "We are dying and you are killing us". Pointing out that she and local authorities were responsible for coordinating on-the-ground infrastructure is perfectly fair game.
