For what it’s worth, if you don’t intend to publish on the App Store, you no longer need to buy a license. You can develop on your own devices with a (free) Apple ID.
Maybe once in a while while you work on other stuff, or take a break, but doing a compile after 7 days of no compiles doesn't seem like a huge deal
