What happens if no one ever picks it up.. like; is the transaction in limbo forever and at some point someone could just mine it so you have no idea if it will ever go through? Or is there some kind of expiration.
It'll eventually (around 3-4 days at most) be evicted from the mempool of enough network nodes so that you'll be able to send a conflicting transaction (spending the same inputs) and get it mined instead.
