The HD edition on steam used to run under wine. Now it doesn't, but you can roll back to a previous version for now.

I wouldn't. Games aren't written by DevDiv or the Azure team.

The current versions of AOE1 and 2 play well on Wine. Maybe this new edition will too, I hope.

I hope not. I lost too many hours to the original.

If this runs on Wine bad things will happen...
