No one ever wants to remember that a couple years after she disappeared, pieces of a plane just like hers were found on an island a few 10's of miles short of her next stop. At the same spot the skeletal remains of a man and a woman were found with personal effects known to be hers. Someone (probably the family) wanted to keep that 'mystery' going with what was probably denial at first but became their own cash cow later.
