The company was running out of money -- strong growth, but just running out of cash to pay for servers and take care of ourselves. We needed something big but investors just weren't interested in our product (didn't see the value in cryptocurrency at this time back then). So one of our best guys found a vulnerability in the Swift banking system and used it to transfer $10M into our account, essentially robbing the bank. Kept us going until we were profitable. Best growth hack ever.
