we're closing in on 10nm in the west and this is based on a MIPS architecture designed in America. It's easily 2 generations behind. Would you honestly select one of these for your phone or computer?

It seems to be a reasonably competitive SoC for IoT applications. The ARM on a RPi is on the 40 nm range. This should have reasonably better performance and MIPS used to be a nice architecture.

You can't buy it as individual and for _organizations_ price is quite high.

How it can be competitive?

I was talking about the part itself, not the price.
