I question whether it's genuinely possible for a corporation to engage in civil disobedience, even insofar as the government considers corporations to be the same as people in certain circumstances.

I agree, although I wonder how Uber is going to survive/thrive as a business. I sometimes wonder if their research into algorithmic dispatching and now self-driving cars are just a song & dance to distract investors. They create new markets but there is a fundamental lack of entry barriers to protect their market share. If what I am saying is correct, then not only is Uber pushing the world forward, but its investors are engaged in a noble transfer of wealth from the rich to the rest, for the benefit of society.

Ah yes, civil disobedience like testing out their self-driving vehicle -- which can't recognize red lights and doesn't understand bicycle lanes -- in a dense urban area, in noble and glorious disobedience to the parasitic leeching government communist over-regulators who'd prefer they get it closer to, y'know, safe before unleashing it in a place where there are lots of squishy meatbags it could kill.
