All: Hacker News is for the gratification of intellectual curiosity, not political and ideological battle. Those two things are incompatible, so most politics is off-topic here (https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html). Some politics is inevitable. The litmus test for moderation here is: does an account use HN primarily for political purposes? If so, that's an abuse of the site and we eventually ban accounts that do it. Incivility and flamewars are two other abuses that we ban accounts for.
If you're going to comment in these threads, please take extra care not to violate HN's rules. Discussion needs to become more civil and substantive, not less, as topics become more divisive.
