  ~/.bash_history ?

  shred ~/.bash_history; clear; exit

   unset HISTFILE; shred ~/.bash_history; exit

You want to unset the current HISTFILE so that it doesn't become apart of ~/.bash_history when you exit.

Putting a space in front of commands prevents them from being recorded in the history file.

I never knew that! This is awesome, not sure why I never picked up on this before.

Thank you.

I tried doing this, but doesn't work on Mac
