I'm sorry, I looked back through my words, and didn't see any name calling. That's fine if you want to ban me. I'll go elsewhere. But, I think you're greatly confusing incivility and name-calling with honesty and pointedness. Am I really offending someone? really?

It's true that a phrase like "name calling" doesn't really communicate much—it's really just shorthand for a more complex model of how this community functions. I took a shot at trying to write a more detailed explanation here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13412325.

It's actually tricky to articulate these things in detail, and takes a lot of time and energy that are usually in short supply, which is why we usually don't. Perhaps I should write a longer piece about it that we could link readers to in the future.

I tried to delete my account, but I don't know how. HN is a distraction anyway. I have a company to sell.

He didn't close Guantanamo, kept authorizing drone strikes, expanded government surveillance, failed to prevent/aid/resolve Syria, didn't pardon whistleblowers who exposed agencies infringing constitutional rights.

He believes that the government should be able to play by its own rules.

So, how about doing something productive today that helps solve the root problems? You won't be able to do it all on your own. Find 2-3 other people to collaborate with.

Err ok? You're like people that respond to complaints about books with "write a better one". How about my constitutionally bound representatives do the job my taxes pay for?

Why argue with me? If you just want to win, to beat me, I'll surrender. Just please do something positive today.
