I didn't look at the name of the writer when I started reading it but by the way the article is written I was suspecting it was written by a woman. Stupid analogies and fluff, lots of commas... What a loss of time...
I don't know how to say this in a civil way, so I won't: Please take your sexist bullshit somewhere else if you can't behave like an adult.
Please don't feed trolls. Instead, flag egregious comments by clicking on their timestamp to go to their page, then clicking 'flag' at the top. (You need > 30 karma to see flag links.) We monitor the flags and take action based on them. In the present case, we banned the GP account.
You did know, but didn't want, actually. Now we have this thread appeared from nowhere. But main point, besides what catched your eye, is that an article is written with pretty lame stylistic and is hard to read and get seriously.
I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but that sounded a little bit sexist.
She tried a conversational writing style and failed.
Seems that you can't even combine 'she' and 'failed' in one sentence here on HN. Looking for alternatives, since the issue still persists.
Your parent comment is nearly void of substance and dismissive. It's okay to have a criticism of the the writing style, but without some additional information about why (e.g., examples, comparisons with similar styles of writing), it adds little constructive to the conversation. That in and of itself can draw downvotes.
Reasons why were listed in our root comment, and parent posted at the time when it was not flagged. Ironically, parent comment even somewhat protected author's lameness, but you can't see that now. I blame the blind power of sjw here, not anything else.
I browse with showdead on and had read the thread prior to my comment. If the reasons are listed upthread, there's even less reason for the unsubstantive addition. Constructive discussions require adding something substantial. If the comment was intended to support the author in some way, it needs to justify that as well, or even make the case that that's the intent.
