An ebonics-inspired slang form of "give me that" --> "gibsmedat" --> "gibs"

I believe it's slang for "give". Like with lolcats, where they would say "gib me dis".

Could also possibly be German slang, a shortening of "gibt" (a form of the word "geben", meaning "to give").

In german gib is not slang or a shortening of anything. It's the third person singular imperative of geben.

I suspect Senji meant "gibbet", but I could be wrong.
