What do you think he'll change his name to next time he needs to run another scam or fleece some investors?

it is not really about the person in this case, but about the case (no pun intended). US gov overreached where normal due process should have taken its course.

If it's not really about him, then why did he petition to live-stream his own extradition hearing?

The actual legal aspects of the case are easy to record, this is all about creating media-exposure for his personal "brand" and agenda.

You don't get it. Kim is an asshat, fine, granted. No one is arguing against that.

But I don't think it's a good idea for us to throw away our rights just so one asshat gets what is coming to him.

How does running a private delayed-stream of court hearing have anything to do with the "our rights" you're concerned about?

This whole brouhaha was never about bringing video equipment into a courtroom for publicity.

I think it was just Kimble (not Kim Kimble) back in the days when he was behaving mischievously with the guys at Chaos Computer Club.

That's what he went by on IRC in the early 2000's, yeah. I think a more correct description would be "script kiddie" ;) Despite being considered pretty lame, his company Data Protect managed to attract a few top names in the community. Those years marked the beginning of a (very sad) era where more and more of the really skilled hackers started to sell out to the shady, greedy IC and security industry.
