As you put it, it's a "Belief". I'd rather call it a point of view or even a political opinion.

Well when compared to almost every other major nation on the planet, it becomes much less of a belief (or "political opinion" -what?) and more of an objective fact.

Compared to every nation, not just major ones, parental and maternal leave policies of the US seem barbaric.

Goodwill? The likely fact that this is better for Nvidia's long term finances (retention, cost of hiring, PR, easier recruiting, etc)...?
