That hasn't been a serious concern for a pretty long time. Consider the Taipei 101, which exists in an earthquake zone
and
has to deal with typhoons.

The Tokyo's Sky City episode of Extreme Engineering has a lot of information on Taipei 101 (more interesting than the Sky City part frankly).
