Completely disagree with this. How is this unethical? The people in his photos just so happens to be there, it's no different than you taking a photo of your friend in a crowded area.

If the government feels like they have the rights to mass surveillance, I think we should also have the same rights to personal surveillance.

From an emotional standpoint I see why this would be an issue (everything you do in public being recorded forever is a bit intimidating) but from a logical/philosophical standpoint, how is this different from someone with a photographic memory? Is it that the images can be shared?

I would say that that is indeed the key difference.

There are definite upsides though. For example people can't get away with illegal behavior so easily. There's an interesting fiction book called "The Circle" that explores the consequences of having cameras absolutely everywhere.

Interesting! I googled it and it seems like they're making a movie about it. Can't wait.
