Drupal 8 isn't ready until it has all the modules that a customer may need. Most of ours are ecommerce or 'rooms' (online booking) ... I think those are perfectly reasonable minimal functionality for a CMS that is supposed to be better than Word Press.

So Drupal 8 core may be out, but for 99% of Drupal developers we're all waiting for the modules to catch up.
