Dell, HP, and Lenovo all got together to make a marketing push behind "PC Does What" (http://www.pcdoeswhat.com/). It seems like they're embracing the name "PC"

Not really. Apple's usage of the word "PC" reflects popular usage.

Maybe the technical world. Ask the person on the street if a Mac is a PC, and I don't think they'd answer the same.

Remember the good old days when IBM made PCs? :P
