I speak about the Higgs Boson and it creating matter and energy out of nothing, which violates the laws of thermodynamics. The so called God Particle. The one they are trying to find at CERN in the super collider, and have only found Higgs impostors instead. Hawking argues in the early universe it was possible to create something out of nothing. But can't explain what created the Higgs Bosons that created the Big Bang and all matter and energy in the universe.
This all goes back to Einstein arguing with quantum mechanics scientists. General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics are incompatible. When you combine the two you get a lot of singularities. The standard model of Physics is broken until both sides can be made compatible. But neither side will admit to anything being wrong.
From the way it was explained to me a black hole is a wormhole where one of the sides is zero in diameter, going nowhere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormhole
I think Einstein argued that the diameter cannot be zero. If true then black holes don't exist as we think they do, and matter and energy from the singularity slowly leaks out the smaller end that is not zero but infinitesimal and located somewhere else in space/time so we cannot observe it. All Hawking can observe is the evaporation of the black hole into nothing, in this theory he cannot see the leak at another part in space/time that could be in the past or future where the information, matter, and energy leaks out.
Remember that science is about the observable universe and what we can observe. Once something goes into a black hole, we cannot observe it anymore. That is why math models are made and theories are made about what happens.
Hawking did a great amount of work, but some of his theories violate the laws of thermodynamics which makes them controversial. It is why he has critics, and it is why he has to make corrections about his theories when proven wrong.
