yenda··on France's Government Aims to Give Itself Carte Blanche to Spy on the World
According to the US, yes. This is an empire, it's citizen have more rights than those of the colonies.
yenda··on Emacs Artist Mode
I'm surprised people still use it, what is Flash still usefull for ? deploy malwares ?
yenda··on To Stop Procrastinating, Start by Understanding the Emotions Involved
I should block HN then...
yenda··on Jeff Bezos' email to Amazonians
It's a trap !
yenda··on Why is Bitcoin forking?
I don't see the connection to the global warming debate. Clearly no-one listens to the so called "gods" in the global warning debate even though the consequences become clearer and clearer every year.
yenda··on How I develop with Nix
The first but not the last, there is also Guix the package manager and GuixSD the system distribution, which is written in Scheme, as well as all the package definitions. For lispers it is heaven.
yenda··on We're heading for AOL 2.0
also you can't edit messages, apparently that's a big deal for some people
yenda··on Emacs X Window Manager
The sad truth
yenda··on Scheme vs. Python (2011)
You can doubt as much as you want it's just a fact. But I'm not saying it's good either. As much as I like python as a scripting language I don't think that's it should be use as widely as it is now.

Concerning Haskel it still lacks some pragmatism to solve some pratical problems such as install and cabal hell.

yenda··on Newegg vs. Patent Trolls: When We Win, You Win
Another well known patent troll is Apple, patenting your hands movements and phone shape since 1984. Allowing the marketing industry to replace the hardware industry product after product.
yenda··on Newegg vs. Patent Trolls: When We Win, You Win
No patent for ideas in Europe, problem solved.
yenda··on Okay, Feminism, It’s Time We Had a Talk About Empathy (2013)
You always know it's a guy, because of Rule 16
yenda··on Inside 'Hackerville,' Romania's Infamous Cyber Crime Hub [video]
this. Seems like it's all just script kiddies and social engineering. If you want to watch juicy hacking go for Geohot for instance. He does some crazy screencasts
yenda··on Google, Microsoft, Mozilla and Others Team Up to Launch WebAssembly
Gmail ? Google Docs ?

And it might also be the final blow on Flash.

yenda··on La Ruche qui dit Oui
I have been using this service for a year. It's nice. Definitely more expensive than going to the supermarket but the food is way better. We have to eat less and more healthy anyway.
yenda··on The Disturbing Rise of Openwashing
Well read Stallman, Open Source is not Free Software.
yenda··on Britain pulls out spies as Russia, China crack Snowden files – report
Imagine if the NSA had spent more of its grey matter and money on IT security rather than shameless spying of western citizens.
yenda··on Why the US federal employee record breach is worse than others
yet really practical isn't it ?
yenda··on A Constructive Look at TempleOS
Worse is better

edit : damn it took me too long without refreshing the page to answer someone did it better

yenda··on A Constructive Look at TempleOS
I had the same feeling, the good news for PU is that there is still one (virtual) lisp machine standing called GNU/emacs.
yenda··on Show HN: Emacs org mode integration with IPython
Stop with this "vim is on server everywhere", only vi is and it's pretty much useless compare to vim outside of text editing. Plus with emacs you edit the server directly from your machine via ssh with tramp, you don't ssh then open emacs on the server
yenda··on Elon Musk’s Hyperloop Becomes Reality as Agreements Secured in California
Now imagine the 2 techs combined, hyperloops to link major hubs at the speed of sound and self driving cars for everything else.
yenda··on Yahoo Pipes End-Of-life Announcement
maybe www.busit.com can replace it for that matter
yenda··on Mastering Emacs
If you want to start heavy customization you can start by looking at configurations in literate programming style, you will learn a lot of documented customs.

Here is an exemple : https://github.com/vdemeester/emacs-config

Also about the book someone on #emacs said it's mostly tips for beginners and about 14 more for intermediate users. I'll suggest you to read the website first and see if you like the author style/pov

yenda··on Whistleblower accuses cybersecurity company of extorting clients
Seems like this is a poor piece of journalism. Other sources indicate that the data breach was one of the employee using Limewire to listen to music, accidently sharing thousands of clients informations on the network by that mean.

yenda··on To Raise Productivity, Let More Employees Work from Home (2014)
Clearly you are terrible at communicating with other human beings or this story is fake.
