yenda··on Building a Startup on Clojure
You can have a cljs repl as well, and you can open an alert in the browser from it like you'd do in the console
yenda··on Ask HN: Is Clojure Dead?
The lisp syntax was my original reason to accept Clojure. You might need a few days to get used to it, but it is far less than any other syntax, and it quickly falls into your muscle memory in a way no other syntax can. Within weeks you master a handful of basic parens manipulation that are all you need to edit and navigate code. That means that you are 100% focus on implementing your solution to a problem instead of switching between doing that and crafting your solution into an alien syntax, assisted by an ide

Are you using shadow-cljs?

The app itself is already available in beta on Android. It is an ethereum client for mobile, and it includes a messenger that uses whisper, a gossip protocol to transmit data (at least for now), which provides darkness and encryption.

The first iteration of Tribute to Talk will be pretty basic with a simple transactional model. A pays B to start talking to B, B can block A at any time. But the smart contract developers are working on more sophisticated schemes for the future.

Here are two related discussions on our discuss forums: Visibilty Stake for Public Chat Room Governance https://discuss.status.im/t/visibilty-stake-for-public-chat-...

It's one of the direction explored by status.im (full disclosure I work there) with tools such as visibility stake and tribute to talk

The two wallets you mention are not running an ethereum like client on the phone and are therefore depending on third parties to get access to the ethereum network.

I didn't know I was making a disgusting comment by using a common English expression that applies to both men and women.
yenda··on Libreboot is not GNU Libreboot anymore
"some transphobic cissexist people"

Funny how one can only see the hate on one side.

yenda··on Maintainers Matter: The case against upstream packaging
I started reading your comment and around the 3rd line I already knew it was you without looking at your nick :D I am thinking about going back to Guix soon, this was an awesome experience for me even though the philosophy was a bit too "free" for my hardware.

yenda··on Is REST Best in a Microservices Architecture?
I somewhat agree. Truth is, you need marketing bullshit to convince upper management that doesn't know anything about tech to adopt new ideas.
yenda··on Design Patterns in Clojure
Judging by his comment I have the feeling that entreprise level means huge projects with thousands of lines of bloat code and comments which need vast amount of underpaid programmers to analyse and debug just to add minor features.
yenda··on Design Patterns in Clojure
Refactoring is a breeze when your editor is connected to the repl, you should try clj-refactor for instance.

I'm not sure what you mean with the typo story since most of the functions in your program should be free of side effects you should be able to test them as you write them.

yenda··on Design Patterns in Clojure
keywords are not strings. And what do you mean by safety ?
yenda··on Common Lisp Koans
Clojure is definitely a perfect fit for you then, you can even interop with your Java code.

yenda··on Mozilla Will Stop Developing and Selling Firefox OS Smartphones
Good point, maybe a hack that would be runnable from android to override it on the phone would have done the trick
yenda··on Mozilla Will Stop Developing and Selling Firefox OS Smartphones
FirefoxOS was a perfect fit for me on the paper but I never got how to buy one here in France. I'm stucked with Android and I don't like it.
