I gotta say that I can remember seeing wacom support in GNOME and KDE settings apps since forever it seems like (2004? 2005? I'm getting old I think). I've never used one of their devices, but the brand has lodged itself pretty firmly in my mind for the goto artisticle input methodology, just because of their Linux support.

That's something she should make sure comes up in her future job interviews, especially if her firm deals in the tech industry...if I had an attorney with those sorts of concerns I'd feel pretty good about my legal council.

On a side note, I have no idea why pgp is not more common in that industry. It's completely insane. In some ways, you'd be better off sending your legal correspondence on a postcard with attorney/client priveledge disclaimer at the bottom.

No. I don't want curated shit or suggestions. I want my friends, as in the people I know, and the shit they say unweighted by a partial judge that i've never (and can never) meet. That's it. I don't want what an algo decides what their best of is, I just want to keep in touch with people I know. Most people I know would say the same.

this thing reminds me of the [something] paradox. humans maximize what they can use, not what they're able to do with it, unless forced to. modern day roombas have much more computing power than most (any?) computers did at the the time the Beast was created, but it performs essentially the same function. you could make the argument that the humans making the roomba spent less time/energy/money developing it with modern computing tech and high level languages than researchers did developing the Beast, but the apparent requirement of an increase of computing power by many orders of magnitude for a reduction of effort by one or two orders of magnitude is completely insane.

this thing sounds smart as, if not smarter than, a roomba.
