That being said, actually shipping the same code on both platforms has its own costs and considerations.
They just haven't shipped your preferred feature.
Q: Should Rust be considered a noteworthy web backend development option, or is there just not much community activity for that?
I've used several location sharing apps to share my location with family during commutes & road trips -- and all of them suffer from various feature, reliability or performance flaws. There might be better ones than I've tried so far, but I basically stopped trying new ones out of frustration. (Plus, I'm usually running Google Maps anyway...)
(For anyone confused by the mention of graphic design: it's all about communicating information through visuals.)
These 1-lane roads are already a headache for those living there, with cars parked on both sides, making dealing with ANY traffic a pain.
Traffic is terrible where I live, but I'd rather spend another 1-5 minutes on a major thoroughfare than drive through someone's neighborhood.
I don't live on a street that has this problem (it's a dead end) but we have our own parking disaster unrelated to thru traffic, so maybe its easier for me to empathize with these homeowners about something that they have almost no control over and lowers quality of life.

Edit: Apparently not the guts of it, my bad :(
Also, it's easy for users to click buttons and go "ohhhh, wait, no!" and there ideally should be something to account for this case too.
(In fact, the speaker isn't affiliated with Realm and doesn't have much to recommend about Realm... so I guess, kudos to Realm for publishing the transcript, regardless.)
Beyond it being an ongoing epic masterpiece of a single man (with contributions from his brother), what's particularly amazing about Dwarf Fortress is how much it has inspired and influenced OTHER games being produced, despite being an extremely niche, unforgiving, and unapologetic game.
That being said, I don't mean to trivialize the problem/task.
The linked page just managed to confuse me, so thanks for posting this!
But given that it only has one USB port, I'm not surprised that Microsoft chose not to ship something that would basically require an adapter.
I imagine they are shaving pennies to keep cost down without giving up quality, but I wonder what the added cost would be to have two USB ports? (And how much extra the new USB parts would cost?)
