The fall isn’t over yet. I can see lots of organizations panicking in January 2021 when the flash plugin suddenly stops working. It dosen’t matter how much advance warning is given, there will always be someone caught out.
Will this mean it will be like the bot generated Wikipedias (like the Cebuano Wikipedia) except it will be done by a Wikidata powered template? It might work for basic data-based facts like populations of villages but what about more complicated statements.
The fact that it is so hard to make a full browser from scratch is why we got a Chromium monopoly. Everyone wants to be free of Chromium but no one puts up the effort as it is easy to just embed the Blink engine. Gecko is the sole major exception to the rule.
This is the death of alternative browsers it's only a matter of time before Firefox and friends gets blocked from major websites for "security" reasons and you will only be able to browse the internet in a browser that enforces full tracking and ads only. The MPAA and similar organizations is probably working on this already.
Wikipedia hates cryptocurrencies they constantly delete their articles even Bitcoin was denied an article at one point. I feel Wikipedia is violating their own conflict of interest policies with this.
I had a 2G surf back in 2008. The main flaw was there was no easy way to update Firefox so you were stuck with version 2.0. And soon XP netbooks came out and took the momentum out of Linux ones.
There's still no official 17 inch Chromebooks out. Why is Google ignoring people who prefer larger devices. Also ChromeOS is absent from high end desktops and workstations. If Google really want to put the pressure on Microsoft then they need to aim there.
Wikipedia's notability policy means that many cryptocurrencies don't get included, even some major ones. Even Bitcoin was deleted as not notable at one point.
