Do the people who think like you also pretend to care about the Jews very far from Israel being beaten due to your rhetoric?

I’m not sure how you could reach that conclusion that American media is independent. There is unprecedented political influence on social media (which actively censor civilly expressed contrarian opinions) and conventional media in the US, with increasing calls for state censorship by US congresspeople. It’s hard not to see the trend; it’s only a matter of time.

Sorry, I know John Oliver et al informed me I must hate them, but I like both of them. I can only give you a list of great things that they've both done. Would that suffice?

Heartened to see this at the top. I was expecting to see something like “Gasp! Modi is as bad as the Netanyahu/Hitler!” It’s almost as the rest of the world are not interested in being inundated with the Californian Elite’s warped ideas/ideological doctrine. As an American, it’s obvious now we are a declining power, and one can’t ignore how tech giants have accelerated that. Sensible countries, like India, are right to reject Facebook’s influence (and no, although many will disagree, this is not proof that India is a failed democracy/nazi state).

Bizarre this was downvoted.

"when we force technology companies to make calls about what is right or wrong - or what is “likely to have adverse psychological or physical impacts” on children - we end up in a dangerous place of centralising and regulating relative morals"

I told myself to laugh when I read this line. As it stands now, a small group of Facebook and Google executives determine what peasants are allowed to think and see on a daily basis based on their "relative morals". Not that politicians are any better, but at least some people did vote for them, and that counts for something.

Let's be real here, anyone with time on their hands should click on foundation, and go check each of their grant histories. I am not even going to agree or disagree with the legislation, but I'm going to bet the money trail will explain this letter.

So I have to cover the rest(most of it)? Including a reasonable amount for the salaries of all of the employees, ad nauseum.

Can they pay rent then with that money? Why do I need to pay rent, food, and healthcare for someone who decides to go on a stabbing spree?

Hard to ignore that the “person” buying the beers in this case is one of the wealthiest and dystopian corporations on the planet. In some twisted sense, I have to ask if it might be more ethical, at least in the sense of serving humanity, to leak this to someone malicious and capable of causing damage to FB’s brand.

I wasted a lot of time chasing women and dated many attractive ones, including a few signed models, in my mid 20s and now I’m married to someone I consider hot (plus a ton other great qualities that models often lack). I think wasted a lot of time. I don’t think you’re wrong at all but this is PUA-centric life advice. If your goal is to have sex with beautiful women, sure, it’s possible (for more than just rich, established, or extremely good looking men), and after great effort and sinking a lot of time in, you can accomplish that and brag to the internet how successful you are.

But, none of that negates what the poster above you is saying. If you spend your younger years focusing on yourself and your career and gaining meaningful life experience instead of chasing thousands of women, that problem should solve itself. I can’t imagine any woman that would make a non-miserable partner would be attracted to the Tucker Max type - although sadly this is what our culture is heading towards.

world_peace42··on Diffusion Models Beat GANs on Image Synthesis
Red Sox beat Yankees in the world series =\= Red Sox will always beat the Yankees in every world series game. And I’m guessing most people reading this title know that. I’m sure there are people new to the field or new to CS research in general who might not know how to interpret this, but the only thing most people take out of this title is “hmm, maybe we should consider and study diffusion models more seriously”.

I don’t think the analogy applies. We are humans, capable of observing the failures of others and making rational decisions to avoid those same failures. The immune system is programmed to react one specific way. For example, we can choose or choose not to go out of our way to get vaccinated. If someone doesn’t get vaccinated and infects a dozen other people and then get really sick themselves, it’s hard for me to have sympathy. Unfortunately here, when there’s an illness, millions of people have private information leaked. This should simply be an unacceptable.
