Since the challenge rotate every 5 minutes, there must be some way for a user to enter against an old challenge, right? Else they call, get a code and nothing.
But even with that out of the way, the decryption key must be the same across all discs, since there is only 1 master disc.
So the challenge/serial must combine to create a decryption key, which can be shared across users.
The contenders seems to be:
- Linear Algebra Done Right - Sheldon Axler
- Liner Algebra Done Wrong - Sergei Treil
- Introduction to Linea Algebra - Gilbert Strang
- Introduction to Applied Linear Algebra: Vectors, Matrices, and Least Squares by Stephen Boyd and Lieven Vandenberghe

So I’m not sure if there are glyphs with multiple characters but there _are_ code points with multiple characters. E.g, you can enter the correct code point and still misspell a Chinese or Japanese word. This is because for Chinese Korean and Japanese characters in Unicode it is not enough to choose the correct code point but also markup the code point with the correct language.
I have no idea what "Aristotelian essentialism" is supposed to mean, or if you are saying that the unification was that.
> And apparently the Japanese complained bitterly over the ones that were merged.
and
> but I was told that the Unified CJK thing adopted a different "philosophy" from the rest of Unicode [...] mostly due to vocal objections from the Japanese.
Seems to contradict each other.

Talked with a guy who wanted to built automation in food industry and it turned out it was cheaper to hire a guy to push the food item into a correct position on the conveyer belt than to set up a machine to do.
I imagine Temu changes things so often they’ll never get to numbers where full automation makes sense.
Something something, why buy a robot when you can hire a guy for $10/hr
The interesting question is: would a “real” candidate have beaten him?
I assume you use a real instrument to play the game, but how? Do I connect my guitar to my PC? How? If not, how can it give me feedback? If I don't use a real instrument, then what?
But then again the article is being accused of heavy LLM. If you notice that COUNT(DISTINCT ...) doesn't parallelize and you ask an LLM to argue why, you get easily get an article without a good thread.
I can write a bunch of checkpoint commits and then squash them, I suppose, but the interface for doing it isn't super inviting and there are a lot of things I need to consider in terms of tracked and untracked files.
If I understand this correctly, I can deltaDB all my untracked and ignored files and git push my thought-out commits, fully respecting things ignored. And If I realise that I should have git-commited 10 minutes ago, I can rewind, commit, fast forward and continue.
We’ve always been asked to use our personal Apple account to install apps used for work.
Elevators in the last few countries I’ve visited had generally refused floor selection that didn’t agree with the call direction.
If no selection in the direction of call is made then they would open again and reset their direction after which you can go in the “wrong direction”, so to speak.
I think the suggested fix by the author is quite poor. If you really want to optimize, have floor selection done outside the elevator. People have to learn to remember which elevator is “theirs”, though.
However switching between those two types does tend to make you forget to make selections.
So they look good and the potential buyer sees something that looks to be in good condition and working well.
Opened cognito and bought at the lower price with a guest account.
Felt both smug and piss off at the 5 bucks I saved
Calling all the command line tools is cumbersome, the Python cloud APIs are verbose compared to the cli tools and often have very different concepts for how they interact with services.
But I agree that there is a need for a better bash and zsh is nice but not the upgrade that is needed
