So I understand it like this, if you are a journalist freelancer you take gigs on request from newspapers? What do you think about taking gigs from the crowd? I try to do this on wishpage.tv (check out the blog section). If you like it give me a shout-out or write about it, I'll reward it.

I could build a disaster-response version of my wish page https://wishpage.tv/places People could place a request (or a wish) on the map, that request is public and visible. People at the location can pick up a request (e.g. to make a video or to fly a drone over a volcano). Other people can up-vote requests and even attach money to them (rewards for fulfillment).

When I was a student I had a little room and one time I had a co2 monitor in my room for a few days. The monitor had 3 leds, green yellow and red. While sitting in the room for three consecutive hours (at the computer) the co2 would slowly rise from green to red and after opening the window for a while it was back at green. Now the interesting part is that I felt a strong correlation between tiredness and high co2 levels (I was surprised how strong this effect was) and that opening the window really did help. Since then I thought that every classroom needs such a device.

I've heard about a city that measures the number of mobile phones in an area to estimate the demand for public transportation. But I don't remember which one it was.

We have a self-promotion section now for videos, if you need a place to show your videos to the world without getting labelled as spam :)

What do you think are good ways to get users for the website? Would you market it in a different way?

What do you think, can you see yourself using the website? What functionality would make you use it?

But how do I get visitors in the first place, this is the first challenge. Twitter is pretty good at hiding my promotion tweets from other users...

I like the idea of user curated summaries much more, the scrolling is a bit distracting. Short news articles are surely attractive, if they are summarized by the community and the community checks if the summary is unbiased I might use that.

The left swipe doesn't work on my android phone, I have to click the icons. Does that only work on the iPhone?

This is exactly what I try to solve with https://wishpage.tv/ people can make a content wish, people can attach monetary rewards to wishes and then someone can pick up the wish and make a video for example.

So it goes two ways, citizens can wish for the news/content they want to see and content creators don't have to guess anymore what the people want to see.

I made it a bit like a social network where every user has an individual wish page so good reporters can build up a good reputation.
