wilg··on LLMs reward expertise
The terminal? No way, the normal Claude or ChatGPT desktop app.
wilg··on Californians' data deletion requests, DROP, become enforceable Aug. 1
Well, I don't think any of these things are legally required, so call it whatever you want.
wilg··on Google fixed more Chrome bugs in June than over the past two years, thanks to AI
This seems an awful lot like confirmation bias. Web browsers are themselves extremely complicated.

Also, this doesn't address why the rate increased, which is the interesting part!

wilg··on Advancing the price-performance frontier with GPT‑5.6
What would they say about Grok?
wilg··on MCP 2026-07-28 Specification: transport going stateless
It's wild ChatGPT doesn't let you use MCP properly (only really works without a useless developer mode thing in Codex, and Claude it works fine).
wilg··on Apple Will 'Watch Everything Burn' When the AI Bubble Bursts
I max out Claude Code and Codex subs both every week without fail and I’m doing a lot of work but it’s not insane.

> It boggles the mind. One would think this is some highly secretive technology only a dozen people in the world have access to, the way one has to argue tooth and nail about trivially verifiable facts regarding it.

Hahaha, I love this. The people on HN are living in some kind of bizarro world where AI is totally useless and also I guess only tried it in 2022 or something.

wilg··on That post never existed. Stop listening to that thing
It's an esoteric philosophical question that has no truth value either way.

Slavery was about racism and power and control, not economics. Slavery is bad for the economy!

Fully 50% of HN front page posts and comments are this now.

Could the article "The Stack" the user was looking for have been 'What is "the stack"?' by Julia Evans?

Making things up is only really a common issue on the non-thinking models which nobody should be using. The regular chatbots are Autogooglers and are very useful for research. This is just not a good argument anymore.

Edit: Guys, why are we downvoting this? Does no one use like ChatGPT or Claude and understand how it works? Do you all think its regularly hallucinating links still? Is everyone on HN using like free signed out accounts or something? What year is it?

wilg··on Kaiser nurses say AI, surveillance are making their jobs and patient care worse
Can you just say the point you're trying to make about nonprofits directly?
wilg··on Kaiser nurses say AI, surveillance are making their jobs and patient care worse
There's no law saying you can't start a non-profit healthcare provider or insurance company. Why not do it?
wilg··on Kaiser nurses say AI, surveillance are making their jobs and patient care worse
Do you suppose thats why they wrote "principally"?
wilg··on Kimi K3: Open Frontier Intelligence
Isn't that typically because they have lower labor costs? Not sure that applies as much to AI.
wilg··on Why I Left Google DeepMind
Well one way you can understand why the poster finds it controversial would be to read it before commenting.
wilg··on LAPD lets contract with surveillance giant Flock expire
It does exactly that.
wilg··on LAPD lets contract with surveillance giant Flock expire
This is a common coping mechanism, but the US is quite democratic and almost any objection you have about corporate control or whatnot can be easily overridden by getting like 100,000 more people to agree with you.
wilg··on LAPD lets contract with surveillance giant Flock expire
True sometimes, but not always. It's unlikely dumb people are equally split between political parties.
wilg··on LAPD lets contract with surveillance giant Flock expire
The US has below average middle class tax rates. But luckily we can just choose what our tax dollars are spent on through democracy! The main problem is nobody agrees about anything and lots of people are really dumb and can't handle the responsibility of electing competent people into government.
wilg··on Stop Telling Me to Ask an LLM
We are not in a recession, and we (if you mean the US) recovered our economy from COVID (under Biden).
wilg··on What's slowing down the AI buildout
The "long tailpipe" concept is outdated and incorrect.
wilg··on ChatGPT Work
Technically I think it uses something called OpenAI OWL not Electron https://openai.com/index/building-chatgpt-atlas/ (which they extracted from Atlas, but the new app mentions it in the about window)
wilg··on ChatGPT Work
Presumably there are some features in the old app that will be migrated to the new app or dropped. Seems fine.
wilg··on Car touchscreens are cheap, not good
They briefly put the turn signals on the wheel which is not amazing but they’re back on the stalk now.

AC is not an issue IMO. It’s always in the same place on the screen, on auto, and I never touch it really.

wilg··on Car touchscreens are cheap, not good
That’s a physical button.
wilg··on Grok 4.5
Maybe, but some political narratives are good and right and true, and others are bad and wrong and false. (I am not joking: objective reality exists and most of politics isn't subjective.)
wilg··on GPT‑Live
I'm pretty sure that's a major part of this announcement? It delegates to GPT 5.5 which then uses tools.
wilg··on Car touchscreens are cheap, not good
Tesla arguably has better, more useful, and more obvious physical buttons than most cars. Most car manufacturers spray confusing physical buttons everywhere with esoteric icons and insane UX. Everything you'd want to do as a driver in a Tesla has a physical button or a set it and forget it "auto" mode.
