If I was tasked to start the Pentagon from scratch and was asked, “should we setup a system to provide offices and constant access to journalists?” I’d be like, fuck no, what a dumb distraction.
Members of the military should not be talking to the press about their work while at work. Sure, talk off the record, just don’t do it at work. And talk as an individual, not as a representative of the military.
Unless of course your job is literally PR for the military. In which case maybe go to the journalist.
trauma and disability can look like a lot of things, and the things in your life that you may think aren't a big deal actually can be, and you have no idea because you've never had it any other way.
realizing i have intense trauma and C-PTSD and a real disability made me shame myself so significantly less, and while it doesnt make me act like a victim or that im helpless, it gives me a butt load of compassion for myself. because the real basic things that people find easy, i find difficult, and to get the same results requires 3x more effort for me. people can view this as me being lazy when in reality im working much harder than they are.
not trying to diagnose you. maybe just keep an open mind, because the way your life is operating is not typical, and there's probably reasons for that.
The scientists I know personally are actually using LinkedIn the most for discussions around their work, and extremely rarely using any platform other than LinkedIn for this
On the flip side I very rarely take Ubers so my shitty obstinance here doesn’t have a big impact
I was also really salty when they decided to make tips a huge part of it. I hate tipping culture despite tipping very well. And if you read the subreddit for drivers they are constantly complaining about how people tip, and complaining that even 20% is not anywhere near enough
Also when someone farts it’s the particles that smell bad, not the air itself
