wek··on Lego's 0.002mm specification and its implications for manufacturing (2025)
For me, the beauty of Lego was just a huge bin of interconnectable parts that I used to make whatever my imagination came up with. For my kids, Lego is pre-built model airplane set that they build one time and then display. I liked my Lego better :)
wek··on Show HN: VS Code Agent Kanban: Task Management for the AI-Assisted Developer
This is interesting. We've seen markdown as the app. This is markdown as the database for your tasks.
wek··on Labor market impacts of AI: A new measure and early evidence
I'm excited about Agents helping many tiny teams succeed. There has been hype around the "who will be the first solo founder to a billion" but I am hoping for many small teams to succeed and I think this is the more interesting story.

I agree its in the 2-7 person range.

The challenge for those teams is distribution. They will crush at building, but I'm not sure how they can crack distribution. Some will, but maybe there is a way to help thousands of small teams distribute.

wek··on Agent Safehouse – macOS-native sandboxing for local agents
Do you have plans to go cross-platform and offer a solution for Windows?
wek··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (March 2026)
I'm thinking about how to maximize the speed, bandwidth of collaboration with agents and teams to get to shared context as fast as possible. I think for the human, based on biology, its visual into to the human (out from agent) and voice out of the human (into the agent). Based on this, we are working on a local, agent-native workspace where you can collaborate with your coding agent visually in your sessions, markdown, mockups, code, tasks, etc... Called Nimbalyst. Would love feedback on it.
wek··on Living human brain cells play DOOM on a CL1 [video]
I've searched and can't find a technical paper on this. Has one been released? This is very problematic.
wek··on If AI writes code, should the session be part of the commit?
Similar, but we have the agent write the test cases after writing the plan and then iterate until it passes the test cases.
wek··on Show HN: Nogic – VS Code extension that visualizes your codebase as a graph
From your first page, this looks cool and needed. But as others have posted, I can't get to your github pages.
wek··on Cowork: Claude Code for the rest of your work
I agree that for writing documents and for a lot of other things like editing csv files or mockups, I want to be immersed in the editor together with Claude Code, not in a chat separated from my editors
wek··on Total monthly number of StackOverflow questions over time
Me too. I learned a lot from people on SO. Sometimes the tone was rude, but overall, I was and am grateful for it and sad to see this chart.
wek··on Non-Zero-Sum Games
A bit hard to read but some fun images and examples. I appreciated his post on capitalism as not a zero sum game.
wek··on Show HN: Vibe coding a bookshelf with Claude Code
"The gap between intention and execution was small, but it was enough to keep the project permanently parked in the someday pile." Well said!

This is my experience with agents, particularly Claude Code. It supplies sufficient activation energy to get me over the hump. It makes each next step easy enough that I take it.

wek··on Ask HN: Resources to get better at outbound sales?
I'd recommend learning from Jason Lemkin at SAAStr and from Jen Abel. She did two great podcasts with Lenny on Lenny's Podcasts.
wek··on We invited a man into our home at Christmas and he stayed with us for 45 years
Thank you for sharing this.
wek··on The U.S. Is Funding Fewer Grants in Every Area of Science and Medicine
Funding for basic science and medicen should be a bi-partisan winning issue. It is good for America. It is good for the world. It helps eventually lift the poor. It helps business. Its something the government can and should do that is hard for private business to do. It helps human knowledge. I'm motivated to reverse this trend.
wek··on Show HN: Open-source Markdown research tool written in Rust – Ekphos
A paragraph or two on your motivation for this and the benefits of this approach would be helpful. Thanks!

Nice analogy!

Thank you! I am reviewing your comments in app and will get back to you soon by email. Please keep them coming!
wek··on Local WYSIWYG Markdown, mockup, data model editor powered by Claude Code
Thanks. We built a first class WYSIWYG markdown editor integrated with Claude Code.
wek··on Local WYSIWYG Markdown, mockup, data model editor powered by Claude Code
We have been getting the best results with Claude Code when we iterate with it to build full context and then use and update that context as we work.

So, we built Nimbalyst to be the local WYSIWYG editor and session manager where you iterate with Claude Code on markdown docs, diagrams, mockups, data-models, sessions, and code. Nimbalyst lets you:

- Work in one integrated tool leveraging all your context.

- Use all the power of Claude Code in a UI

- Work with Claude Code to write and edit WYSIWYG markdown, see AI changes as red/green, approve them

- Iterate on html mockups with Claude Code, annotating the mockups, and then use them as context for people and Claude Code coding

- Build your data models based on your docs/code, iterate on them with Claude Code, export them in standard formats.

- Integrate mermaid diagrams, text, tables, mockups, data models, and images in standard markdown for human/AI context

- Tie sessions to documents to sessions, find and resume sessions, treat sessions as context, run parallel sessions

- Code with Claude Code with all of this context, use / commands, see git status.

Nimbalyst is in Beta, local, and free. We would love your feedback.

wek··on Working quickly is more important than it seems (2015)
> Part of the activation energy required to start any task comes from the picture you get in your head when you imagine doing it. It may not be that going for a run is actually costly; but if it feels costly, if the picture in your head looks like a slog, then you will need a bigger expenditure of will to lace up.

I have found AI to help me with overcoming that activation energy. I am re-learning to code, writing articles, learning aspects of marketing that I wanted to do, but it felt too hard. Having AI as a step by step tutor overcomes that activation energy for me.

Both. Real-time synchs and asynch. Please give it a try. We'd love your feedback!
