wehadfun··on The Trippy, High-Speed World of Drone Racing
Drone racing was on like ESPN 8 one day and it was very interesting to watch. Honestly if E-Sprots/Nascar have a following this should as well.
wehadfun··on Self-Crashing Cars
buy a Tesla and hack it into a car bomb

wehadfun··on CoreRT – .NET Core runtime optimized for AOT compilation
So using this a .Net application run without the .net framework?
wehadfun··on An ER visit, a $12,000 bill – and a health insurer that wouldn’t pay
Whats going on the hospital is charging $12K for maybe 1 hour of actual time spent with the patient. Unless most of that $12K is used to cover the non-paying customers I don't understand how it could cost the hospital that kind of money to provide the care.

I bet over half that money went to people who probably never steeped foot in the hospital much less actually provide care.

wehadfun··on TomTom ditches map updates for some sat-navs
Having both is nice. For the most part Android Auto is great but sometimes cord doesn't work, phone dead,... the integrated on is good enough
wehadfun··on Google doesn’t necessarily need innovation
No, Try Chromebook, Chromecast, Google Docs, Angular
wehadfun··on Apple, in Sign of Health Ambitions, Adds Medical Records Feature for iPhone
I feel the correct solution to this problem is for legislation that forces hospitals to quickly, easily, and cheaply share patient information. If you go to one hospital and then go to another hospital up the street even though they probably both use epic they have to fax or mail records. Not for technical reasons but bureaucratic ones.
wehadfun··on Guaranteed Minimum Agriculture: Why Basic Jobs Might Fare Better Than UBI
Also UBI let people do what they wanted. If someone wants to study cockroaches they can without worrying how to monetize it. If they have to spend all day at their UBJ
wehadfun··on My Dated Predictions
The facebook will probably happen. Facebook has already taken sides. There already is a Fox party and a CNN/MSNBC party. Before that there was a New York Times, Wall Street Journal Party.

Global Economic Recession is a safe one. The question is when?

I think Cryptcurrencies will crash with the recession. If a recession hits people are going to want to cash in their crypto for real money and guess what will happen to crypto?

Driverless / Flying / ... cars are probably the biggest change since the cell phone and internet. The only weird thing about them is their timming. People kind of travel less. Shopping is done over the internet, education is done over the internet, jobs are done over the internet. Socializing is done over the internet, Church over the internet.

wehadfun··on My Dated Predictions
Probably Jetsons nostalgia.
wehadfun··on Who’s Afraid of Bitcoin? The Futures Traders Going Short
I respect wsj paywall so did not read article.

I was reading that the fees to short it are really high.

wehadfun··on College Presidents Making $1M Rise with Tuition and Student Debt
Yea but if the football team brings in lots of $$$ I think it is fine. Now teams that are not making money is a different story

wehadfun··on I gave Amazon a key to my house and regretted it
Washington post did a negative article about Amazon?
wehadfun··on GM puts an e-commerce marketplace in the dashboard
So how does this interact with the current in car experience? If I am playing music will it show me the song or the nearest starbucks?
wehadfun··on Among the Tax Bill’s Biggest Losers: High-Income, Blue State Taxpayers
The main argument is that richer people buy more expensive houses and get bigger deduction then lower income people and basically lower income people are subsiding rich people mansions. BUT there is a cap which I would guess would work good enough to mitigate this.
wehadfun··on Investor Shervin Pishevar Accused of Sexual Misconduct by Multiple Women
Impossible to know. I don't care what qz.com claims. Usually this stuff is done discretely so only 2 people really know what happened. There is also the fuzzy line between trying to laid and outright harassment.
wehadfun··on PostgreSQL 10 Released
I feel like Microsoft SQL server is the easiest to use and has the best tooling.

I would say that MySQL and Postgres are generally ok to use I slightly perfer MySQL tooling.

Oracle seems to be the most different one but once I got use to it it was ok.

wehadfun··on Swapper
Its a little NSFW
wehadfun··on IBM Now Has More Employees in India Than in the U.S
I have been a close observer of code coming from India. I think the majority of the problems are because of vague, incomplete, and wrong requirements coming from the company that hired them. One company sent over someone. The guy spent a month talking to management, employees, probably the janitor and figured out what we actually wanted and the resulting code was decent.
wehadfun··on Facing poverty, academics turn to sex work and sleeping in cars
I would like to know which universities these people work at. Are they Billion dollar universities or are these lower tier schools. Regardless schools care more about money then education and enslave their students in debt, send their athletes on the road for week missing class, and literally pimp out there professors.
wehadfun··on Equifax C.E.O. Richard Smith Retires After Huge Data Breach
How does everyone feel about Susan Mauldin(Equifax Chief Security Officer) having a music degree?
wehadfun··on Equifax C.E.O. Richard Smith Retires After Huge Data Breach
Wow. Wow. Wow.

When was this? Did they sell your house or do you still have it?

wehadfun··on $782k over asking for a house in Sunnyvale
Is apple paying these people tens of millions or are these stock programs?
wehadfun··on Blacks and Hispanics Are More Underrepresented at Top Colleges Than 35 Years Ago
Honestly I appreciate competing views. Sure Asians seem to push academic excellence. Some parents push sports, some push military, Asians push academics which results in them going to highly elite schools. No Asians are not elite they just focus on books. Calm down.
wehadfun··on Blacks and Hispanics Are More Underrepresented at Top Colleges Than 35 Years Ago
I don't agree with your comment that it is genetics I think it is more environmental. If you take two smart people. Deprive one of them from sleep, water, food and then give them an IQ test in a dimly lit room that is freezing cold but don't do this to the other person on average the person who was not subject to all that crap will do better. This is the uneven playing field that AA was supposed to correct. If these racial based IQ test took into account the socio economic status of maybe 2 generations before the actual subject and normalized for that I wonder if the difference would be as big or even there at all.
wehadfun··on Blacks and Hispanics Are More Underrepresented at Top Colleges Than 35 Years Ago
Throwing more money at failing and corrupt school districts wont fix it either.
wehadfun··on On managing outrage in Silicon Valley
White women are the biggest beneficiary of Affirmative Action. If you think that AA is a race only thing you are wrong.
wehadfun··on Homehero is shutting down
What added benefit did homehero add to justify their costs? Either way the majority of people who work in this industry do not get paid a lot for what they do. It is hard to argue that they should get paid less to support the middle men
