I have a Kinesis freestyle 2 I picked up for a steal (about $20). I looked at the tenting hardware and other add ons, and determined some old odds and ends give it enough lift. I need to replace some keys, but it's been amazing. Like you, I'm broad chested, and know the spacing is super important.

Good! I'm happy to see more progress here.

voicedYoda··on The Dream Job That Wasn’t
This is a fantastic representation of how developers should present themselves and work to get their dream jobs. It's hard work up front, but the dividends yield. Kudos

Kudos on the quit. After my child passed away, i went through a similar spiral. It took my spouse, our community, and a new life to save me. I'm not great, but doing better
voicedYoda··on Show HN: Compare prices that US hospitals charge patients, insurance companies
Looks interesting. How is this different than test claim submissions available from Eligible, Waystar, PokitDoc, etc?

And are you licensing out cpt codes from the ama? IMHO the AMA and their copyright of CPT codes is the biggest setback to progressive change, transparency, and adaptive change in tech... Payers and well funded companies can afford licensing, otherwise they will strangle you with lock down...

voicedYoda··on Running a fake power plant on the internet for a month
I read this book last year. What a fun read! Well thought out, clever solutions, and a very focused amount of tenacity.
voicedYoda··on Cheap and simple way to mount a smartphone directly above a laptop display
The story was will written and I do like the telewindow. Reminds me of the hacks with the Nintendo wiimotes (1). Definitely trivial but really cool!

voicedYoda··on YouTube TV sharply increases monthly subscription to $64.99
I still don't understand, and refuse to pay for, basic TV in the United States. Bunny ear is now a digital receiver with even more local broadcast options. And yt brings no value add, imho.
voicedYoda··on Mad magazine legend Al Jaffee retires at age 99
When i was a child, MAD had a fake credit card on the back. My dad's office had a laminator. We cut out the fake cards, laminated them, then when we'd go out for a meal, he'd "let me pay"with my American Impress card... So many laughs were had with such a juvenile gimmick...i miss those days!

I appreciate this, even fighting the gag order. Thanks @moxie0!
voicedYoda··on Some auto insurers are sending refunds to customers as crash rate falls
Spot on. I've worked in P&C and life/ health insurance, and really wish states would regulate life/health like they do for P&C.
voicedYoda··on Federal Agencies Need to Address Aging Legacy Systems (2016) [pdf]
As a technologist whose built for both private and public, I'm always amazed at how little a contact can be for the public sector to purchase, only to realize that the price tag did not reflect the true cost. Government usually will go with the lowest bidder, but that project always will balloon way beyond expectations. They could've easily built in house, but that would've cost too much up front... It's easier to get a yes on a cheap, long tail expensive project then a yes on an extensive short term project...
voicedYoda··on Why Amazon got out of the Apple App Store tax and other developers won’t
My mbp is 9 years old and still doing relatively well, however it's nearing it's end of life and my replacement of choice is system 76. MS is an ok alternative, but unnecessary. And osx no longer innovates. They just hoard and protect their own interests.
