Nothing specific, I wanted an overview of the whole thing. I guess the question I'm asking myself is "What would I need to know if I wanted to setup a fab from the ground up?" Which materials are used and where they come from, the different types of companies that would need to be involved and why (e.g. ASML) and so on.
But honestly, I don't really know much. So an intro to semiconductor manufacturing that could be read by a plain old software engineer would also be great.
Pretty expensive for indie devs, though.
I'm pretty sure I'd never use it for anything but one thing that caught my eye is how easy it is to generate mock data. E.g. WordList
Want to use a road? You pay. Want to get some financial documents you actually need for work? You pay. Want a doctor to see you at a hospital? You pay.
You pay for everything twice.

I'm currently building a platform to improve turnaround time in labs doing COVID-19 RT-PCR analysis. I've sent patches to Google's Tulsi, Homebrew-Cask, GitHub's Catalyst, CPython -- I helped put the helicopter on Mars! -- and a couple of other Python libraries.
I'm looking for any interesting opportunities. Especially in the finance industry.
Still, I don't think what I mentioned is unreasonable or goes against the framework's philosophy. The templating system already has plenty of logical statements, might as well make it work like expected.
See also Jinja2's take on that https://jinja.palletsprojects.com/en/2.11.x/faq/#isn-t-it-a-...
You can't just import and call some arbitrary python function. You most likely need to write a template filter or tag [0]. Maybe there's a good reason for this but it just feels like I'm working around a weird issue in the framework.
Also, I can't use parentheses inside if statements in a template. It's a strange restriction.
I know that Jinja2 -- which is good -- is supported. But it's a second choice, requires some setup and it's not the usual way of doing things.
Don't get me wrong. I like Django and it's still far, far ahead of most other web frameworks. But, because of these issues and also because the frontend story in Django is not that great I find myself reaching for Rails, these days.

Anyone from Netflix would like to chime in on why it was chosen?
