vinceyuan··on Techempower Web Framework Benchmarks Round 10
Some frameworks which I never know performed very well. But looks like they are not mature. Which framework do you recommend? I used Node.js/Express, Rails and Sinatra but am not satisfied with them. I am learning Go.
vinceyuan··on Switching to Atom from Sublime Text
+1. That's why I continued with Sublime Text. Atom is actually a browser (Chromium). Safari/Chrome/Xcode are using too much RAM on my Mac. I don't like a text editor eating too much RAM.
vinceyuan··on The Fuck – Correct your previous console command
Super interesting. I LOLed. But I will not install it.
vinceyuan··on Why We Are No Longer Developing for the iPad

vinceyuan··on Why We Are No Longer Developing for the iPad
Microsoft is heading in a good direction. I do like Surface 3 and 3 Pro. But the battery life of Windows laptops (including Surface) is still not good enough. We have to admit Apple does well in Macbook's battery life.
vinceyuan··on Voyage to Nowhere: The Amazon Kindle Story
I use Kindle Paperwhite 2 every day in bed. The built-in light is very useful. I hope they will make Kindle's screen bigger.
vinceyuan··on I Googled My Mother’s Maiden Name and Found My Family’s Violent Secret
As a non-native English speaker, I couldn't understand the title until I realized his great-grandfather Michael Zarbatany is his mother's grandfather, instead of his father's grandfather. Why doesn't English distinguish between paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents?
vinceyuan··on Why the name?
I know it is a recursive acronym. I just want to know why they chose G, instead of A, B, C, ... etc.
vinceyuan··on Why the name?
We all know "GNU's Not Unix." But what does G stand for?
vinceyuan··on Don't React
After I refreshed it several times, I had to go back to this post and read comments. Luckily found this. Thank you!
vinceyuan··on Meteor 1.1 Released – Now Supporting Microsoft Windows and MongoDB 3.0
I just tried. The page was still empty 1 minute later. I had to stop loading and refresh it. This time, it loaded quickly.
vinceyuan··on Meteor 1.1 Released – Now Supporting Microsoft Windows and MongoDB 3.0
It cost me more than 30 seconds to load your website at the first time.
vinceyuan··on Announcing the Surface 3
As a iPhone/iPad/MacBook user, I think Surface 3 looks good. R.I.P. Surface RT.
vinceyuan··on How Android was created
I began developing apps for Windows CE 2.11 in 2001 (then, Windows CE 3.0, PocketPC, and Windows Mobile). Its name changed many times but it's still a mini Windows. I did like it at that time. I was not impressed by iPhone until I really put my hands on it. WM is good, but iPhone is revolutionary.
vinceyuan··on GitHub hit by DDoS attack
To the guys who gave me -1: If you cannot visit Google, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and many other websites, you will say "Fxxx GFW!" too.
vinceyuan··on Why Baidu Has Been Hijacked to Attack GitHub
GitHub was blocked completely by GFW. But many developers in China complained, because GitHub is too important. Now it becomes available again. I think they choose Baidu just because its scripts are widely used.
vinceyuan··on GitHub hit by DDoS attack
Fxxx GFW!
vinceyuan··on GitHub hit by DDoS attack
Can we report it to Baidu and ask Baidu to clean up the scripts immediately?
vinceyuan··on Pencil code
It's super good for beginners, especially for kids!
vinceyuan··on After Jobs Dry Up, What Then?
Because "Becoming Steve Jobs" was mentioned many time recently, when I saw 'Jobs' in the title, I thought "Is it another article about Steve Jobs and that book"?
vinceyuan··on Pinterest lets employees exercise options 7 years after leaving
Wow! Pinterest is so generous! In my previous company, I had to exercise my options in 3 months after leaving. Now that stock's price increased by 50%.
vinceyuan··on Replacing Photoshop with NSString
Cool and useful!
vinceyuan··on My first experience at working from home
If you are a software developer and your aggressive manager is not a developer, don't work remotely. I worked for several months in this condition. The experience was very bad. The manager couldn't understand the difficulty and complexity of programming. He was just pushing and pushing to make sure I was working. I worked 10-12 hours per day, but he was still not satisfied. Finally, I worked on-site. The communication became much better and he could see I am working. And I did not need to work too long every day.
vinceyuan··on My first experience at working from home
+1. I am working at home. My child is young and my wife cannot handle completely. I can't concentrate on programming. Sometimes I have to take my laptop to the public library to work.
vinceyuan··on Gyroscope: A personal site powered by your life
The UI of this web site is very cool. How to make this 3D animation?
vinceyuan··on Jvm.go: A JVM written in Go
Baggage? Do you want to say 'garbage'?
vinceyuan··on The new MacBook
I hope there will be a 14-inch version with the sd card reader and more USB ports. Will we see it this fall?
vinceyuan··on Java Runtime updater now installs ask.com toolbar on Macs
Will it happen on Mac? http://static.spiceworks.com/images/how_to_steps/0000/3886/t...
vinceyuan··on GitHut – Programming Languages on GitHub
Surprised to see the oldest programming language is Makefile (1970) in this chart. It appeared earlier than C (1972). Is this correct?
vinceyuan··on GitHut – Programming Languages on GitHub
Thought GitHub published it officially. Just found it's GitHu(t) instead of GitHu(b). LOL Anyway, good job!
