Also it doesn't matter if you make 200k in Toronto or 100k or less in Waterloo. Living expanses in Toronto are almost double. Car insurance is almost triple, if you want to have one. Cities are 1 hour away from each other. And taxes ... :) I won't get into that.

Some personal thoughts and opinions here:

People that go on Elance to find workers, well, they get what they pay for. I am sure that there are some great freelancers out there but you are far better to find yourself local clients, charge more, and get referrals.

Really, try face to face business first. More and more people are realizing that talking to India at 4am is pain in the ass. Also, a lot of people think that they can go on Elance and hire a guy that is charging 14 goats, and they expect this to be done as if they were paying him 100 goats.

However, face to face business will really depending on how you present yourself, your age and if you can sell.

All these websites: Elance, 99 designs, etc etc are making money for their co-founders (hopefully), and very little for freelancers. Getting 40 logos for 299 dollars? 40 people working for 299 and 1 of them is getting paid.

Don't sell yourself low.

PS. I deal with small businesses that tried these things, even larger companies that make millions of goats / year. And they tell me these stories after they hire me. I laugh! :)

Very simply, they cannot. You need to know how to run a business and how to adapt to changes, if you want to be as successful as Google. In my opinion Yahoo! needs to learn that first.

Facebook/Twitter have more information on you than Linode, and they share it with the Gov. The only thing that I wouldn't want is my data to be lost (if i didn't have any backups)

I completely agree with this one. I do design and code and it really pisses me off how pages are designed (I design ugly websites, and pretty ones as well, but whoever I design for, it works).

Everything looks like a theme now-days, and oversized as well because it's responsive. Some stuff is just useless and every designer keeps saying ' less is more, less is more ' while designing stuff like this? Less IS more when you know how to use it, when to use it, and what it really means.

I would give this website 2/10 for their effort.

I feel the same way. When I chat with clients about a project, I focus on their business and clients. I get involved a little bit, see what they are all about (and after that they want to hire me as their employee, but that's another story, I should start blogging about it, hah!) I will definitely try to take the "Do not mention technology" approach to see how this may change things.

I have been using it for a couple of day now. This theme is absolutely amazing. I love all Sublime themes but this one just shines through. Colours, especially within the sidebar (the new folder icon as well) are probably the greatest stand out feature. Thanks again for sharing.

Just want to point out that your Twitter share button should point to the article's page (current page) not your main url.

From my experience all I need know is if there is a delay or not, which I check quickly on the airport's page. If on time: For international flights and large airpors if you have about 1h to travel (traffic, distance etc) leave when the plane is landing. By the time the plane gets to the gate, people get out, find their luggage and so on, it will be ~ 1 hour. You won't need to park your car, go straight to the door for pickups.
