Check their FAQ here: https://stratis-storage.github.io/faq/
In short:
In terms of its design, Stratis is very different from ZFS/BTRFS, since they are both in-kernel filesystems. Stratis is a userspace daemon that configures and monitors existing components from Linux’s device-mapper subsystem, as well as the XFS filesystem.
Red Hat move seems very strange here because it would be better just to hire several BTRFS developers and join the BTRFS Linux ecosystem instead of writing something new ... I still do not know what for ...
I do since years and here are the tips you may find useful if You would also like to run FreeBSD on the desktop.

... and please stay away from Project Trident or TrueOS or Lumina, they are from from being ready.
... eventually GhostBSD is quite OK.
... sorry for hijacking the 'Brave' thread but I am not able to reply to the original comment (time).
Recently I searched for some 'valuable' news source - kinda meritum from the news - but nothing like that exists ...
... so I started my own 'news' for UNIX/BSD/Linux related stuff - Valuable News - https://vermaden.wordpress.com/2019/04/08/valuable-news-2019...
Because various UNIX/BSD/Linux related news sites also make a lot of SPAM and no-so-much-news ...
The latest one is available here:

... and last but not least - Sri Lanka with English as a secondary/third language (but official) and also warm.

... and besides that one no other modern laptop has 'real' keyboard.
There is also FreeBSD Community Resources wiki page - https://wiki.freebsd.org/Community/Resources - which contains links to such blogs and resources.
That lefts OpenBSD users with software containing security holes and bugs. IMHO OpenBSD should create a pkg(8) equivalent (or even port it/import it like openssl) to have up to date packages at least for RELEASE.
There was time when VirtualBox was not available on FreeBSD, no one even thought about writing Bhyve and QEMU was only 'virtualization' option on FreeBSD (with KQEMU accelerator module).
As I used FreeBSD I even made a howto - HOWTO: QEMU on FreeBSD - still available here: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/howto-qemu-on-freebsd.175...
... and someone suggested just that, to add my thoughts/changes to the FreeBSD Handbook.
... so I did sit down and rewrite entire 'Virtualization Chapter' in HTML, still available here: http://www.strony.toya.net.pl/~vermaden/FreeBSD-Handbook-Vir...
... and no one done anything with it.
It was not merged, not a single bit from it was merged into the FreeBSD Handbook.
When I asked why I got response that maybe if it was in the correct format (I do not remember which documentation framework FreeBSD used back then) some parts would be used but as its in HTML no one will even 'waste' time merging it. I did the most 'hard' part which is creating the valuable content, formatting is secondary thing for me, but it was not for them.
Since then I do not bother about FreeBSD Handbook. I still use it from time to time thou. I would not have anything against even if someone would put my entire article there without any changes, that would serve a lot of people, but if someone will do it, that I do not know.
Regards.
Fingerprint is at MOST 'username'. Never a 'password'.
The ThinkPad 25 Anniversary Edition is a step in good direction but Lenovo does not plan to introduce more of them.
Same with Dell D630 with extended battery that was in front and server well as palm rest, very nice piece of hardware.
Same with ThinkPad X301.
Not to mention SparcBook or PowerBook ...
About CTRL-Z and other of these I once wrote about them :)

Just added -A and -S options that also minimize a window.
-a - Do pause/resume active window.
-A - Do pause/resume active window and minimize it.
-s - Do pause/resume interactively selected window.
-S - Do pause/resume interactively selected window and minimize it.
https://github.com/vermaden/scripts/commit/03591a138b14ceded...It works only on Linux.
Mine approach works on Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD/Illumos/Solaris/UNIX/...
