ratatui is very good Rust TUI toolkit right now. But, it doesn't support mouse click events yet[0]. I hope that they implement this feature as i think it's critical to some TUI applications.

varbhat··on Munich court tells Netflix to stop using H.265 video coding to stream UHD
Doesn't Netflix use AV1 exclusively to stream it's contents? Even if it's not using it, I think that this news will be a boon to AV1 usage adoption as i hope that HEVC will be replaced with AV1 in Netflix.

I am Open Source Developer and Tech enthusiast(My Github profile is https://github.com/varbhat). I am much more of generalist Software Developer having done Backend development(Go,Python and Java), Devops(docker and Kubernetes), Web development (React and Svelte), mobile app development(react native, flutter and kotlin) and thus i think that I will be incredibly useful.

I have developed popular Open Source Cloud BitTorrent Client Application in Golang(and Svelte.js) named exatorrent. It's incredibly popular (1.6+k stars, Half million docker pulls) and many people use it. It uses PostgreSQL/Sqlite as db.

Apart from that, I have developed cloud based downloader in Go which lets you download files in your cloud server. I have also developed HyperUpnp - mobile application which lets you to stream media from one device to another. I used to maintain Docker Image of a distro. I also developed solution that lets you compile for MacOS from Linux without any deps. I had once written transpiler which converts dialect of BASIC to C.

I am also quick learner. I will learn anything that's useful to solve the problem. I am good at programming which is driven by my immense interest towards computing.

varbhat··on Show HN: HyperUPnP – Android UPnP Client App That Lets You to Stream Media
Hello HN,

HyperUPnP is Open Source Android Application that lets you to Stream Media from PC, NAS or any other device running UPnP/DLNA compliant media server to your Android Device. I worked on it as a hobby project past week. This is also my first Android Application Project that I developed.

I have a hard disk containing Media which I like to stream it to my Android device sometimes. That's where UPnP/DLNA Server comes into picture. But,I couldn't find any good Open Source UPnp Clients for my Android Device which fully satisfied my needs(Thumbnail loading,Grid Viewing, Searching to name few), so I was motivated to create/work on HyperUPnP.

varbhat··on Show HN: Warp, a Rust-based terminal
I use configured zsh which has majority of features mentioned above. It is integrated with fzf and also has autcompletions(with help description), autosuggestions, hints, file completions and more. You can see my zsh dotfiles below.

https://github.com/varbhat/dotfiles/tree/main/dot_config/zsh

I could even have enabled real time type ahead completions with this plugin but i haven't (because i don't need this feature) : https://github.com/marlonrichert/zsh-autocomplete

i use my current configuration on foot terminal (which itself is blazing fast and boasts fastest vtt parser) in linux and kitty terminal (which is very feature rich, even has terminal graphics protocol so that you can even run glxgears(opengl cube demo: https://github.com/michaeljclark/glkitty) on it) on linux and macos.

i am sure that other shells such has fish also have these features.

So, what benefits do i get on switching to warp? currently,i don't see any except few marketing words which aren't enough for me to start using warp.

I might be missing something but i am all ears.

No , I used https://github.com/anacrolix/torrent to build exatorrent
varbhat··on Show HN: Exatorrent – Self-hostable Torrent client written in Go
Yes, it is possible to control it via web interface.

I wanted to create Windows executable. I tried cross compiling using mingw and asked my friend to test it but it reported some error namely libstdc++ error and similar ones. So,i focussed first on releasing software first and look into this issue later.

I also wanted to release Binary for MacOS too ,so went to setup osxcross cross compiler but couldn't setup it properly too. I wanted to work on this after release.

So, Help is appreciated regarding this matter.

varbhat··on Show HN: Exatorrent – Self-hostable Torrent client written in Go
Nice. I will consider.

You can route network of exatorrent through network/VPN .

Also, wireguard implemented in Linux kernel is faster than userspace implementation of wireguard-go . No?

I built this as a project to learn things. I used to dislike myself for not being productive.

exatorrent helped me to learn new things ( go , databases , typescript , websocket , CI/CD ,etc.).

so,here it is.

varbhat··on Show HN: Exatorrent – Self-hostable Torrent client written in Go
No limitations on number of torrents .
varbhat··on Show HN: Exatorrent – Self-hostable Torrent client written in Go
Memory use is pretty low. It's around 5-6 MB initially and will increase as you add more torrents.

Also you can measure Memory Usage and other Stats in real time in Web Client of exatorrent(also there is API for it)

varbhat··on Show HN: Exatorrent – Self-hostable Torrent client written in Go
Hello HN ,

I have worked on this for past few months . exatorrent is BitTorrent Client written in Go. It can be run locally or be hosted in Remote Server with good resources to use that Server as SeedBox. It is Single Completely Statically Linked Binary with Zero External Dependencies .

exatorrent is simple yet feature-rich . It is lightweight and light on resources. It comes with Beautiful Responsive Web Client written in Svelte and Typescript , but thanks to documented WebSocket API of exatorrent , you can also write your own client or integrate with other services if you want to.

exatorrent can operate in Optional Multi-User Mode administrated by admin user/s but it can successfully be used by Single-User as well. Torrented Files are stored in local disk of device where it's run, which are then retrievable or streamable via HTTP.

I hope you like it . It's Open Source .

Also HN , I am looking for Internship . If you're interested , please email me
