The western world is far too busy litigating against one another and scheming with crypto than building technical growth.
EDIT: I can foresee a dark future where surveillance video is monetized for such salacious purpose and it becomes inescapable as the cameras are everywhere.
PS not worth the admission, if you want to take the kids on an educational adventure go to Ripley's Aquarium.
Administration has been far easier. The bot ecosystem is thriving, both open and closed. Although, the 1 feature I truly miss has been exporting convos.
No doubt, if building community is on your mind, go with Discord.

Or my condescending take is that Copilot/ChatGPT struggles with API generative code and it is far easier for the prompt "engineers" to generate a system call from the git man page.
As for the authors original use case.. all the overhead could simply be avoided by correctly setting up their network preferences in the first place!
Step 1. Prioritize your preferred Wi-Fi networks, either by Network Preferences>Advanced... or using: networksetup -addpreferredwirelessnetworkatindex via the command line.
Step 2. Select SushiNet and uncheck "Automatically join this network" via Network Preferences.
They're nearly identical and possibly manufactured by the same company, but the build quality of the XRackPro is ever so slightly better. The front and back doors are studier with less flex and the side panel latches have better spring back.
The doors and panels are easily removed for full access.
The casters provide great moveability.
They both were fitted with noise reduction foam, which provides adequate noise levels for home use as well.
I purchased them from auctions so I can't judge them by their steep retail price.
I use the tops as extra storage to house a standard printer on one and a 3D printer on the other. I've even considered adding a little homely aesthetics with butcher block on the top.
At first I stored the vacuum near by to keep the cats away and they associated the server noise as a vacuum and haven't ventured towards any.

Thanks!
Only advice I wish someone told me at that age would be the importance of ergonomics because by my early 20's I was experiencing the effects of RSI. After college I had to take a 1 year sobatical to recover. It took nearly a decade to subside by changing every aspect of my working environment and abiding to a strict physical regimen.
I lost myself in the code through long hours and I hope this youngster can avoid what I've experienced and I'm certain live coding for hours on end is not the best approach. The old adage 'No pain, no gain' should not apply.
