unlinker··on Campaign demands telecoms unlock the FM radio found in many smartphones
Not on Verizon, though.
unlinker··on Giving up on Julia
Why is strong/dynamic typing considered such a big deal?
unlinker··on Gboard: Search, GIFs, emojis and more from your iPhone keyboard
Google apps on iOS are a clusterfuck. You should see YouTube, for example.
unlinker··on Back door found in Allwinner Linux kernels
You say it's antisocial behaviour like they do that just for the sake of it, when there is money to be made. Like sending spam, etc. You want a botnet? Then compromise stuff, and then use the botnet for your benefit. It's not antisocial in any way.
unlinker··on Back door found in Allwinner Linux kernels
In any case, a huge amount of Android devices out there run outdated versions of the kernel, drivers or Android itself with privilege escalation vulnerabilities.

The only thing that is insane here is that we all deem this as "normal".

unlinker··on Debian i386 architecture now requires a 686-class processor
I guess they mean the original Pentium. Is that still actively used?
unlinker··on 'Boaty McBoatface' polar ship named after David Attenborough
For some time, iirc, it was about to be called Blas de Lezo.
unlinker··on FBI Harassing Core Tor Developer, Demand Meeting, but Refusing to Explain Why
Only that this is not a sexual setting and the fact it is a "she" changes nothing in this context.
unlinker··on Americans’ Distaste for Both Trump and Clinton Is Record-Breaking (2016)
Race of whom? Cruz, Trump, Bernie and Hillary are all caucasian. What am I missing?
unlinker··on Remote code execution vulnerability in ImageMagick
That would be madness. Imagine a browser that did that, or that crashed the tab in case of a JS error. There would be no pages left :P
unlinker··on Remote code execution vulnerability in ImageMagick
What doesn't? Imagemagick, for me, is the one stop shop for all kind of image filters, resizing, recoding, etc
unlinker··on Remote code execution vulnerability in ImageMagick
Tell that to HTML engines ;P
unlinker··on WhatsApp, Used by 100M Brazilians, Shut Down Nationwide Today by a Single Judge
>Brazil is the seventh world economy, if you count the number of nations in north america and europe, being the seventh world economy is a great deal.

GDP per capita is what matters here. And GDP per capita in Brazil is a joke. I think a country full of poor people can be called a poor country.

unlinker··on Gavin Andresen's commit access to Bitcoin revoked, hacking suspected
In my case I have always liked and followed the Bitcoin scene because everybody in his right mind knew it would turn into a shitshow.

I mean you have the combination of an open source community, libertarians, and a shitload of money. The outcome is pretty obvious.

unlinker··on How to panic a current grsecurity kernel as any user
It's not like his attitude was more mature. https://twitter.com/marcan42/status/724749571495075840
unlinker··on FBI Makes Official Its Decision to Keep Apple iPhone Hack Secret
What makes you assume that?
unlinker··on “it seems that Fenix finally reached Twitter tokens limit”
Better idea: https://gist.github.com/rhenium/3878505
unlinker··on “it seems that Fenix finally reached Twitter tokens limit”
What's Twitter going to do against that?
unlinker··on AMD licences x86 tech to Chinese company
>If somebody else comes out with a chip that's substantially better than x86 for servers

I like it that you make it sound like that's easy task, when it's gonna take a good amount of time and a few billion dollars to do.

unlinker··on AMD licences x86 tech to Chinese company
"x86 is legacy" is a very good meme.
unlinker··on Heart Surgery in India for ,583 Costs 06,385 in U.S
Or maybe it's a bot. Somebody should try to make it post a story with $$ in the title and see if it escapes it to the PID... :-)
unlinker··on Google's Answer to EU Antitrust Complaints on Android
Licencing an OS is being open? Because, remember, on (for example) a Samsung mobile only the Android frameworks and the kernel are open. The rest, including kernel drivers (SoC, etc), built-in apps, the Google frameworks and apps, etc are completely closed.
unlinker··on EU hits Google with second antitrust charge
Apple is not licencing iOS to OEMs. They are also very far away from a monopoly.
unlinker··on EU hits Google with second antitrust charge
Apple's market share in Europe is so laughable they literally can do whatever they want, but not allowing other browser engines on iOS is certainly not grounds for an antitrust lawsuit.
unlinker··on Telegram to award grants to bot developers
By now I haven't heard anything of how they make or will make money. It's like nobody addresses that. I know a messaging app is not exceptionally expensive to run but still. Anybody has any hints?
unlinker··on Stop Using Std::endl [video]
That's like asking why does Windows use \ instead of /. It's not hatred, it's just... the way things work. Changing it would be very costly and would create compatibility problems for decades presumably, so why do it?
unlinker··on How I defeated an anti-tamper APK with some Python and a homemade Smali emulator
I don't have anything against fun things, but seeing the same memes we have all seen every day for years now is not really funny.
unlinker··on FBI Is Pushing Back Against Judge's Order to Reveal Tor Browser Exploit
That's my thought too. I'm sure most of the so-called "security experts" who like to talk about how important privacy and security are for the rest of us are sitting on lots of 0-days.
unlinker··on How I defeated an anti-tamper APK with some Python and a homemade Smali emulator
Seriously, it's 2016, stop it with the memes.
unlinker··on Uber wants access to browsing history, bookmarks, and running apps
My idea is that if they try to access your contacts, instead of receiving a potentially unhandled "access denied" exception, they should just receive an empty contact list. Et cetera.
