unlinker··on To fix Android updates, hit OEMs where it hurts
Of course it does. (Read last comment) https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=67113

If you are logged in (i.e. pages are not cached) and you load a page with lots of comments (or any page, at a peak hour), generation times of over three seconds are not unheard of.

A p2p discussion site would even be slower than reddit itself, and that's a lot to say.

What the fuck is "IMSHNO"? Not even Google can answer. Is it so difficult to write what acronyms mean instead of acting like a super cool geek?

That's implying she understood the implications.

How can they detect what somebody meant by "rape"? A big chunk of people talk about raping people in videogames every day when they mean killing their online avatars, how do they filter that out?
unlinker··on Study finds women are responsible for half of some online abuse on Twitter in UK
And how do you detect that with a bot that just skims through tweets? Nonsense.

I don't know, then. The Guardian is a leftist newspaper that is known for posting articles written by feminist trolls as a bait.

A woman calling another a whore is misogyny? Being against promiscuity is misogyny?
unlinker··on Reddit launches image uploads, ditching alliance with Imgur
That's funny, when the quality of imgur images and comments is similar to that of 9gag and reddit itself.

At least on the default subs of reddit you can find a handful of good comments if you only read the parents. If you go to the children, they all become obnoxious.

The cat paw is absolutely obnoxious. It's funny that a service that started to get rid of all the crappy image hosts would do that.

I can understand the redirect to a page with ads, and even showing unrelated images. But the cat paw... what in hell.

Calling that "AI" is going a bit too far.
unlinker··on Microsoft is cutting 1,000 jobs in Finland as it stops phone production
As the second article says, it's not Nokia building them, but letting another company ("HMD global Oy") build them under the Nokia brand.

This is similar to what they did with the somewhat recent Nokia N1 tablet: it was built by Foxconn.

Minecraft is in a death spiral, but it's normal, since it's already an old and overplayed game for its target.

It's funny how BuzzFeed or Vox shit is deemed reasonable by the left while Fox News shit is treated as, well, shit.

No. Both are shit.

unlinker··on Facebook admits rogue employees may have shown bias against conservatives
Do you think they'd recognise their own bias? That would be like saying "we can't do journalism properly", because proper journalism is unbiased.
unlinker··on Coming soon: express even more in 140 characters
That fix was not a quick hack, it was a full-fledged feature that has been there since... 2009?

> New Tweets that begin with a username will reach all your followers. (That means you’ll no longer have to use the ”.@” convention, which people currently use to broadcast Tweets broadly.)

Conspiracy theory: they are doing this to fill our timelines with noise so we welcome all the algorithmic changes to the holy and sacred chronological order of our timelines.
