unified101··on One resignation turned the embers of AI fear into a wildfire
EA.
unified101··on More questions about whether researchers can trust OpenAI with unpublished math
In all fairness this is someone saying something. Misremembering happens. Unless we have something with a bit more evidence, the simpler explanation suffices.
unified101··on More questions about whether researchers can trust OpenAI with unpublished math
> the secret

So such thing existed. In fact, what they learnt was some progress existed, not what the specific progress was.

unified101··on Tao: Open math problems being non-renewably mined by AI
Tldr.

For all your bombast, do take a moment to note that no mathematician has actually said openai has not produced a correct solution. Should make you think.

Which bridge? Do share the contract.

> Code that serves a business function might as well be slop. Math that serves directly a business function also can be slop.

Both of these are simply incorrect - serving a business function means it's valuable to that function.

unified101··on Tao: Open math problems being non-renewably mined by AI
Have we asked it new interesting math problems, after studing some space for an evening or a day?
unified101··on Tao: Open math problems being non-renewably mined by AI
What do u think lean is? That's like saying a program that works, is inscrutable because it appeals to the oracle of "code test cases" to prove itself correct.

You're either being intentionally obtuse, or unintentionally ignorant.

unified101··on I resigned from Anthropic today
Isn't that a selfish viewpoint? You're ok with that?
unified101··on LLMs as a Cognitive Virus
Didn't realise thinking was being banned.
unified101··on The moral panic over data centres is foolish
Lets say I like AI it makes my life easy and I don't mind datacenters.

You seem to have a problem with capitalism. Not AI or datacenters. Capitalism isnt working right now. Ask for that to be abolished. Don't point your finger at a genuinely useful and accessible technology.

unified101··on Please stop flooding our projects with AI slop to furnish your CV
Open source is solved. Human PRs are gunking up the process

PRs submission should be closed, and only issue submission, with a prompt to reccreate and fix the issue should be shared. This way the prompts users are using to do things - the real contribution - will make their way to maintainers who can then choose to convert it into a PR and merge.

unified101··on Tell HN: Man, AI is killing my brain
The worry as the OP has pointed out - they will be asked to leave the workforce if they want to hone their craft by handcoding.

"Celebrity" is an old world concept, and does not need to exist. it's find if we don't have them

I'm opposing viewpoints that say might makes right.
unified101··on Show HN: A lightweight, stateless database for agent memory
Closed source - for those who maybe miss this. litestream with sqlite vector based design would be more apt for someone.
unified101··on The risks of AI are real but manageable (2023)
Ethical behavior only when you have leverage is for a hollow personality.
unified101··on AI is hitting entry-level jobs hardest, Stanford study finds
We need to give juniors a way in, and in the AI world honestly the only way i can think of is to maek CS a minimum wage job at the 0 yoe level. Let it ramp to full pay in 6 years.

This way students will make the choice for the longer term, and opportunies will be easy to find for them.

unified101··on Anthropic tells staff to work from home due to possible security team strike
Being an employee is an exercize in force of all kinds (do the work, join the call, do this do that) . By it's very nature, in-office workspace is what people want, not butt in office. Somehow people believe the same force for work location is suddenly too much?

RTO is an expression of that. Best workers can do is vote with their employment.

unified101··on Anger, Anxiety and Agency
> But seeing people get away with such levels of incompetence

This is the deeper narrative. Some things apart from anger you could do: 1. Inspect this narrative and see if it's right? Or is there something you don't understand. It's happened for some reason. Disallow easy answers. 2. Learn that, so you're better prepared for the future.

unified101··on Anger, Anxiety and Agency
You can choose to be unsure.
unified101··on Fences, Not Sandboxes
Why not? What kind of work is this for?
unified101··on Fences, Not Sandboxes
How long since you had to really manually edit. That world is history now - no point holding on to it.

unified101··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2026 – Show and tell
> The cost of engineering and implementation has always been low

With Opus and fable and sol at dozens of dollars for a month, i don't know how you can straight-faced say that. But you do you.

unified101··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2026 – Show and tell
The world is changed - given the low cost of reverse engineering and implementation, it would be product suicide to openly call out a money making product.

I don't expect too many actual >500$ moneymaking projects to be listed. Would love to be proven wrong.

unified101··on We never use AI. For anything
It surely can. It's what I would assume by default.
