tsenart··on Distributed grep client in Go
Without the context of why this was developed, I have to agree with easytiger's point of pointlessness. Perhaps it was just an exercise in curiosity and exploration of the language. If not, I would use pdsh instead http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdsh/ $ pdsh -b -w '10.0.0.1,...,10.0.0.n' 'cat /var/log/your_log | grep "your_pattern"'
tsenart··on Vegeta: HTTP load testing tool written in Go
Hey there! A little bit of trivia about the name: I have been working at an internal project at SoundCloud called goku (not the web framework). It came the time where I needed to load test it and didn't find the available solutions to my taste. Hence, vegeta was born :)

Regarding the cluster mode, it's trivial to sync commands across machines but it's not trivial to sync the state that generates the reports. That's what cluster mode would do. Some sort of master-slave architecture scatter execution and gather and compute the aggregated reports.

I am glad it is of some use :)

HTTPs is on the TODO.

Other methods are already supported. However, I wouldn't recommend you to load test non-idempotent behaviour. POST for instance is not idempotent by definition. Unless of course, you're ready to clean-up all the side-effects after the test :)

Hey there,

Thanks for the thoughts. Let me answer to those.

1) That's something I could do but it wasn't really the goal originally as what I wanted to test was not so much the latencies of connection establishment (TCP Handshaking) but rather an HTTP service itself. I will give it some thought though.

2) I explicitly wanted to abstract the concurrency away from the user of the tool. The API is simplified purposefully. However, I am not sure why you think the requests are sequential. Have a look at this line of code https://github.com/tsenart/vegeta/blob/master/lib/attack.go#...

3) Agreed. I have to think the best way to fit this into the targets file format.

Cheers

Thanks for the warning. That's something I didn't consider at first. I have changed it to a Creative Commons licensed image.

It was pretty straightforward to add the plotter. +1 for Plotinum :)

If you took the time to really check it out you would see there are many more themes to choose from.

Jeremy that's strange. Tell me this stuff: Chrome version: OS and version: Sight version:

Tell me the URL for me to debug please.
tsenart··on Read code on the browser with ease.
About that... I make no use of the user's browser history. But I need the "tabs" permissions. I also have to be able to access all urls. I could indeed access all your history and data with these permissions but that's a byproduct of the functioning and intent of the extension. I make no such thing... Just highlight code. Here is my manifest.json

{ "name": "Sight", "version": "1.6.3", "description": "The Syntax Highlighter for Chrome", "minimum_chrome_version": "8", "background_page": "background.html", "options_page": "options.html", "permissions": ["tabs", "<all_urls>"], "page_action": { "default_title": "Change language", "default_icon": "images/icon19.png", "default_popup": "popup.html" }, "icons": { "16": "images/icon16.png", "48": "images/icon48.png", "128": "images/icon128.png" } }

Thant's something to think of. The extension page now has the list of languages supported. Maybe I'll add some more soon. ;) Share and enjoy.

It does. It was a bug on language detection. Just fixed it ;) Update.

Not at the moment. It's only for Chrome.

tsenart··on ƒu.js - The Functional DOM traversing library.
Well... Actually I do.
tsenart··on ƒu.js - The Functional DOM traversing library.
Disclosure: I think I got misunderstood. This is not a serious library meant for multi-browser support or a general purpose library like jQuery (which I use daily). It's a toy project born out of interest, will to learn and the simple fact that in another project I have, Sight(https://github.com/tsenart/sight), I didn't use any external libraries (except Underscore.js). That's how I really started to learn Javascript. I missed the ability to directly iterate through the results of document.querySelectorAll() so I just had fun playing with a solution and ƒu.js came out. I'm not praising it as the best library in the world. And it can even have no advantages over the others. It's just my toy project with which I learned a lot (and even more with brutal criticism) and published for the others to see. Not selling anything here. (The headline of the page is mere satyre)

tsenart··on ƒu.js - The Functional DOM traversing library.
Even tough he is being harsh I guess he is right. I am not a ninja Javascript programmer and this is my first library. Thanks for the tips. I have a lot to learn. Also, this is a toy project made in one night that I had no internet access. If you don't like it, don't use it. I'm not selling it as the ultimate solution to all problems. It's my personal play and I learned with it and had no intentions of being so serious. If you noticed, I have the following on the README.md: "I'm sleepy. Don't know if this is too useful yet... Playing with Unicorns.(Unicodes)"
