2) Your premise is true but your conclusion is wrong: while cardiovascular induces an aroused state and increases cortisol levels, it is also conditioning the body to be able to quickly return to a resting state, so when it is aroused at a later time (from a stressful encounter with a coworker for example), it will spend less time in that state because it recovers faster.

You're probably a few orders of magnitude more informed if you only read a handful of full length, investigative articles per year (compared to 1-2 hours of news every day). It's a big world, but every now and then I'll sit down and give my undivided attention to a well written piece where the journalist traveled to multiple locations to interview several or more people. Sometimes it's shocking, and most of the time I feel appalled by the end of the article, but I have to forget about my own minor struggles and learn about what real people are going through outside of my bubble.

Once you've learned a thing, or "studied it" much more, you are more swift in perceiving it, processing, and storing that encounter. Be it an idea, name, combination of low frequency words... Otherwise, many things go in one ear and out the other.

What really gives me the goose bumps is if you're, say, listening to a recording of a lecture while looking out the window watching a leaf tumble through the wind - and then the professor uses a leaf blowing in the wind analogy. It's not something you do very frequently; watch and listen to two independent events.

Very cool - I've had ideas for a few sites, but when the time came to create the site and get a half decent design going, I found myself running out of time to work on the actual content. Best of luck to your idea/service

Interesting reads, thanks for sharing. I wonder if mimicking any of the time tested, real life, community building techniques would work. Like if you examined religion or the university structure maybe there would be more things you could replicate online. Reddit already has subs where you need to upload pictures of your diploma.

I find myself doing the same thing now - scribbling down bits of pseudo code when I'm on the go. Trying to get some of the problem solving done, switching back to whatever obligations I have, and hoping that somewhere in the background my mind js still working on the problem.
