Would you really? My gut feeling tells me that's not the case for most people for privacy or ethical reasons. Just because those people are poor, we expect them to have lower privacy or ethical standards.
The link you posted has the following example, I think you're referring to that
> BBH Labs was an exception – they outfitted 13 homeless volunteers with WiFi hotspots and asked them to offer WiFi to SXSW attendees in exchange for donations. In return, they would be paid $20 a day plus whatever attendees gave in donations.
That's completely different. Offering Wifi has zero long term effects. It's providing people with a "business opportunity" that wouldn't have access to it otherwise. Giving someone 5 bucks for their face picture (or other biometrics) is totally different and has long term negative effects.
In moderation though, too much sodium is bad for you
> $37 million buys a lot of resources so arguably this isn’t taking a spot away from anyone, if anything it is enabling these universities to provide more spots to students who deserve them, potentially at zero cost.
This is very speculative. His children getting admitted to these schools might very well take away a spot from someone else unless they would be admitted anyway or the numbers of admitted students increase. This discussion is a fascinating read, arguments from all directions rationalizing this behavior and somehow making it work within our social contract.
Should we take population into account? The US only accounts for ~4% of the world's population. so I wouldn't say "only".
Maybe I'm unaware of relevant history, maybe I'm being too cynical.
Seeking counseling for depression/anxiety does not fall under any of the questions being asked in this form.
"Instant access to x podcasts"
or
"Instantly access x podcasts"?
You are right that this is a good approach for many it will certainly break for many as well.
Slightly? Just thinking about the synchronization between machines makes this an understatement in my opinion.
Or vote for politicians that don't give in to that kind of lobbying. Corporations can lobby all they want, it's the politicians that decide on policy and law.
